Joseph's love of music began at an early age in Akron, Ohio.
early influences,: 1st record  Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys. (1967- 11 years old!)
snuck into a bar at 16 in Kent Ohio and heard live Blues! life changing!! (The Numbers Band)
played harmonica in talent show in high school (1974)
learned guitar - jazz duets in Detroit, Pittsburgh Akron in small Black Clubs. (Kerouac/Cassidy phase)
moved to Portland 1987 (after medical training.)
played The Country Fair and The Hog Farm w Nicki Scully-Shamanic Journey backing Band.
joined Rhythm Culture (Reggae, World Music) played 3 shows 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City working for Budweiser.
-mentored by DK St.ewart Portland master of New Orleans, Boogie Woogie.
Blues keyboard. Trio, then Sextet. recorded album "Live at Olympia" (2011)
Etta James  Tribute (2012) Safeway Waterfront Blues Festival w DK Stewart Sextet. +Alberta Rose Theater Etta  show and recording.
-joined amazing  Portland vocalist Rae Gordon (an Etta performer) Band for a decade. shows, Festivals, Vegas (Big Blues Bender x2), Vancouver Canada... recorded 2 albums.
